Playtech and UNLV Team Up to Explore AI-Powered RG Tools
Playtech is set to provide crucial funding and expertise that will allow the IGI to explore how AI could train chatbots and encourage safer gambling behaviors among sports bettors

Gambling software development company Playtech has unveiled a new multi-year partnership with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Under the agreement, the two parties will work together to discover new tech-powered sustainable gambling solutions.
Playtech and IGI to Explore New Solutions
The arrangement will see Playtech work closely with UNLV’s International Gaming Institute (IGI) on “various topics of mutual interest/shared interest, drawing on the extensive experience of both organizations.”
The UNLV IGI has three decades of experience in the provision of research-based solutions, reliable industry insights and robust executive education to the overall industry. The institute and Playtech will join forces to leverage AI and machine learning for the promotion of safer gambling.
Playtech is set to provide crucial funding that will allow the IGI to explore how AI could train chatbots and encourage safer gambling behaviors among sports bettors. To top it all off, Playtech has supported an internship at the inaugural Gaming Manufacturing Internship Program at IGI’s Center for Gaming Innovation.
Executives Are Looking Forward to Protecting Players
Playtech and UNLV representatives expressed excitement about the tie-up and its potential to shield players from gambling harm.
PhD Kasra Ghaharian, director of research at UNLV IGI, commented on the matter, expressing a thrill about the opportunity to advance the institute’s responsible gambling research together with Playtech. Ghaharian lauded Playtech as an expert in AI and machine learning and said that its capabilities will contribute immensely to the new research.
