Philippine Online Gambling Operators Join Forces to Create PlaySafe Alliance

The group comprises 18 gaming operators approved by PAGCOR, along with a legal advisory firm

A group of authorized online gambling companies in the Philippines has started a new industry effort, the PlaySafe Alliance of the Philippines, to enhance responsible practices, strengthen supervision, and protect players. This action happens as the industry faces increasing examination from politicians and regulators during broader talks about its future in the nation.

DigiPlus Interactive Leads New Alliance to Promote Responsible Gaming in the Philippines

DigiPlus Interactive Corp., the company that runs platforms like BingoPlus and ArenaPlus, said it is a founding member of the alliance. The group includes 18 gaming operators that PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation) approves, plus a legal advisory firm.

DigiPlus says the alliance aims to set up common standards. These focus on four main areas: helping people gamble responsibly, following regulations, keeping players safe, and fighting illegal gaming.

The alliance forms as the country weighs the economic upsides of regulated online gambling against possible social downsides. DigiPlus points out that people in government and business are working to find a middle ground. The company thinks that starting this alliance shows a shared move to be responsible and protect customers better.

Speaking for the alliance, DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco stressed that the plan is about working together, not competing. He pointed out the need to stand together to keep online gaming open, safe, and good for the country.

Major Industry Players and Regulatory Bodies Unite Under PlaySafe Alliance

Along with DigiPlus, the alliance’s Interim Council features several major operators. These include companies like World Platinum Technologies, Trojans Well Entertainment, Gavin Ventures, and Jade Entertainment and Gaming Technologies, to name a few.

Many other firms have signed up as early members, too, such as GoTech Entertainment, IGO Digital High Technology, and Silver Goose 8 International.

The PlaySafe Alliance aims to set up strategic committees for each of its main focus areas. It also plans to create an independent advisory board with both local and international experts.

These specialists will provide advice on a range of subjects, from public health and regulatory policy to new financial technologies and consumer protection.

In a related move, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has plans to boost protection for financial consumers regarding online gambling. The central bank is putting the finishing touches on new rules that will demand tougher identity checks, limits on transactions, and ways for users to keep their gambling in check.
