Philadelphia Eagles Have the Blueprint for Beating the Chiefs

Against Dallas, Philadelphia scored three touchdowns, and all of those were rushing TDs – one by RB Saquon Barkley and two by QB Jalen Hurts.

They’re both incredible runners, which makes the defending Super Bowl champs arguably the best team when it comes to running the ball. Passing-wise, they’ve never been that great, so the fact that Hurts went 19-for-23 for 125 yards with no TDs against Dallas was expected, really.

Speaking of passing, one of Philly’s best moments came in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs, in which Hurts threw for two TDs and one interception. He went 17-for-22 that day, recording a pass completion of 77.3% – his second-best number in the entire season.

Kansas City Chiefs to Take Things Super Seriously

The Chiefs were humiliated at Super Bowl LIX, scoring just 22 points while giving up 40. They’ll be desperate to flip the script in Week 2, and as always, their hopes ride on Patrick Mahomes.

With Travis Kelce, rookie burner Xavier Worthy, and other weapons in the mix, the passing game has the firepower to cause problems. The real concern remains the offensive line (especially on the left side), where Philly’s pass rush is licking its chops.

KC’s OL didn’t do their job well the last time around – Mahomes suffered a career-high six sacks in the NFL Championship game last February. He also had two of his passes intercepted by the Eagles’ defense.

We expect the Chiefs to do much better offensively this time around; their OL needs to do a better job at protecting Mahomes. Will that be enough to grab a win? Only if their defense does a fine job as well. Spoiler alert: we think they will.
