Officer Who Saved Las Vegas Airport Puppy Adopts It

A shifty dog owner tried to abandon her goldendoodle at the Las Vegas Airport, and lied to authorities about it resulting in the puppy finding a better home

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) has had a great story to share after last week’s arrest of a dog owner, one Germiran Bryson, who attempted to abandon her puppy at the Las Vegas Airport.

Unexpected Turn of Events for Police Officer Who Rescues a Puppy

Bryson tried to dupe airport staffers and police before she was remanded to custody, and her dog was taken away from her. Bryson had left the dog tied next to a JetBlue desk after she was refused to board the plane because she failed to provide the necessary paperwork for the puppy.

Instead of leaving the airport as she should have, she doubled back to the gate before police caught up with her. The puppy was given a fitting name – JetBlue, and it has already found a suitable home.

The police officer who rescued her had decided to adopt JetBlue. In a statement on their Instagram account, the LVMPD said that Officer Skeeter Black is going to take care of the puppy moving forward, adding:

“What began as a heartbreaking act of abandonment has turned into a powerful example of compassion, teamwork, and community partnership.”

Rescued Puppy’s Next Journey Begins in a Loving Family

It was meant to be fate, as Officer Black had actually been looking to adopt a goldendoodle months prior, before he had heard of JetBlue.

The department also provided photos of the moment the puppy arrived at Officer Black’s home, where family members welcomed JetBlue. “Today, JetBlue’s next journey begins this time, surrounded by the people who stepped in when he needed it the most. Bon voyage, JetBlue, and welcome to a new life where you’ll be loved beyond words by Officer Black and his family,” the LVMPD wrapped up.
