New Jersey Lottery Player Scoops $6.5M in March
New Jersey remains one of the hottest places to enjoy the lottery, with the state minting another huge winner last week. A single ticket won a $6.5-million payout from the Pick 6 game, with the draw taking place on Monday, March 23.
The lottery has only released news about the win recently, and offered more details about the win. For one, the winning numbers were 2, 3, 6, 33, 38, and 41, after someone bought the ticket using the Jackpocket mobile app and played.
Jackpocket is a popular courier service that is available in New Jersey, but has come under fire in places like Texas, and notably over the winning of a large jackpot, which triggered an investigation and regulatory backlash.
New Jersey Lottery executive director James Carey congratulated the winner, and the game has since reset to over $2 million.
“Congratulations to our latest Pick-6 winner! This is the second Pick-6 jackpot this year,” Carey said. Earlier in March, another person won a $832,000 jackpot in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
The player was visiting the Caesars Atlantic City and scooped the $832,549 Mega Jackpot on their very first visit.
Similarly, in March, another ticket claimed a $3.4-million reward from the Cash 5 game.
