Nevada Officials Set to Review Sportsbook Permits for Boomer’s and Caesars

While Boomer’s looks to broaden its footprint, Caesars Entertainment is bringing its northern Nevada operations under a single brand identity

Boomer’s and Caesars plan to present their newest growth strategies to Nevada officials this month, signaling another change in the state’s rival sports betting scene. Both companies are set to meet with the Nevada Gaming Commission on December 18 after getting initial backing from the Gaming Control Board.

Boomer’s Targets Tonopah as Next Step in Its Rapid Nevada Expansion

Boomer’s, a new player that has seen quick growth since its August launch, plans to open a kiosk-based sportsbook in the Mizpah Club in Tonopah. This small mining town, located between Reno and Las Vegas, has not had many betting options before. The company’s leaders see the spot as an overlooked pit stop for travelers, thinking it could do well with more ways to bet. If the regulators say yes, the operation might start as soon as December 19, making it Boomer’s sixth location. The company also has a few more requests being looked at right now.

Company leaders have informed regulators that their business has performed better than expected in its initial months. They have stated that expanding into rural areas of the state aligns with their long-term plans. They stressed that their services would provide Tonopah locals and tourists with more pricing choices, without requiring them to stick to one platform.

Ramsey Cline, who owns the Mizpah Club, picked Boomer’s after looking at offers from other Nevada operators. He told officials that talks with other casino owners often showed they were not happy with their current deals, as reported by CDC Gaming. However, he saw Boomer’s leaders as more willing to work together when it came to mobile betting.

Cline described Tonopah as a far-off place with few betting options. He said the William Hill kiosk at the nearby Banc Club has limited open times. Most summer visitors are tourists on long drives, while winter brings more locals. Because of this, Cline said people often want to bet in the morning or at odd hours but cannot.

Caesars Extends Its Reach With Planned Overhaul of Four Regional Sportsbooks

While Boomer’s aims to expand its reach, Caesars Entertainment is aligning its brands in northern Nevada. The company plans to change four sportsbooks run by William Hill. These are located at Bodine’s in Carson City, Sharkey’s Casino in Gardnerville, the Carson Valley Inn, and Slotworld. They will now operate under the Caesars Sportsbook name. Among these, only Carson Valley will have staff on-site. The other locations will continue to use kiosks.

Company representatives said the switch will let customers use the main Caesars app, get into its rewards program, and handle money transfers more seamlessly. They called the change a logical next move in their relationship with the properties’ owner, adding that staff numbers will stay the same. The Carson Valley Inn will give up its racebook license when the year ends.

Caesars now runs about 100 William Hill spots across the state, along with over 20 already using the Caesars name.
