NBA Star Jaylen Brown’s Father Charged for Las Vegas Stabbing Incident
Witnesses told police that a minor car door incident, often referred to as a “door ding,” sparked the altercation

The father of NBA player Jaylen Brown, 57-year-old ex-boxer Marselles Brown, is facing charges in connection with a stabbing over a parking spot that occurred earlier this week in Las Vegas.
Jaylen Brown’s Father Allegedly Stabbed a Man in Las Vegas over a Car Door Ding
Las Vegas Metro police arrested Quenton Brown on Wednesday night following a stabbing incident at the All American Sports Park in the west valley. The altercation, which led to the stabbing, took place around 5:45 pm at the park on South Buffalo Drive near West Charleston Boulevard. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital in critical condition, according to police. Authorities stated that the victim required surgery as a result of his injuries.
According to rumors, witnesses told police that a minor car door incident, often referred to as a “door ding,” sparked the altercation. Quenton Brown allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times during the confrontation. This version of events was confirmed by the victim’s girlfriend, who told police that Brown had parked next to their vehicle and struck their driver’s door with the passenger door of his SUV.
When the victim, who has not yet been named, stepped out to inspect for damage, Brown allegedly became aggressive before any words were exchanged. The documents state that Brown dismissed the incident as “just a bump” and insulted the victim. As Brown walked away, the victim reportedly slapped the side mirror of Brown’s SUV, escalating the situation.
Police said they detained Quenton Brown near US 95 and Decatur Boulevard shortly after the stabbing, though the weapon was not recovered. According to official documents, Brown had abrasions on his knees and was bleeding from the face at the time of his arrest. He reportedly told officers, without being prompted, that this was all over a door ding.
NBA Fans Discuss the Situation
Considering Quenton Brown is the father of a popular NBA player, the news quickly went viral online, prompting many fans to wonder how the incident could have even happened in the first place. A lot of the comments debated how a short moment of rage could ruin one’s life.
Many others pointed out how Jaylen Brown, who plays for the Boston Celtics to the tune of a $300 million contract, is so popular and successful, yet his father is getting involved in such a horrible crime. “Your son could’ve bought the whole parking lot and you stabbing people,” one commenter wrote. “Your son is rising in the league and trying to make their mark, and you go out here creating bad PR like you’re trying to ruin their legacy,” another one commented.
Brown was transported to the Clark County Detention Center, where he is being held on one count of attempted murder. He was denied bail and was scheduled to appear in court for the first time on Thursday afternoon.
