Mike Tyson to Host Three-Day Boxing Fest Aimed at Amateurs in Las Vegas

On Wednesday, Mike Tyson revealed new plans that he will continue boxing, hosting the namesake Mike Tyson Invitational, a three-day boxing fest designed to elevate, as Kid Dynamite puts it, the next generation of boxers.

Three Days of Mindful Reflection, Workouts, and Boxing Showdown

Due to take place on March 12-14 at the Radiant Brand Complex in Las Vegas, the event is meant to bring together elite amateur boxers, coaches, sponsors, and media. 

Tyson has expressed hopes that he can help shape his legacy as an athlete who has worked hard to elevate amateur boxing at a time when professional boxing is increasingly difficult to break into. In a statement, Tyson said:

“I’m deeply passionate about doing my part to reinvigorate amateur boxing in the United States. Amateur boxing isn’t just a pathway to the professional ranks –it’s a foundation for discipline, character, and becoming the best version of yourself. This sport gave me so much, and it’s important to me that amateur boxing continues to be recognized, supported, and preserved as part of our country’s legacy.” 

The event will be invite-only, and it will exclusively target amateur fighters, offering them a chance to stand out and to possibly progress further along in their careers as boxers. 

The three-day boxing fest will begin with mindful reflection on Thursday, March 12, during which Tyson will share his insight into what shapes a successful boxer’s mind.

Then, on Friday, March 13, Tyson will host a workout, and on Saturday, March 14, the gathering will conclude with the anticipated boxing bouts. While information about the exact hours, ticket prices, and audience numbers is still up in the air, these details should be fleshed out over the coming days.

Tyson has not completely given up on boxing, as he recently took on Jake Paul in an exhibition show match that was widely criticized because of Tyson’s declining physical ability. 

His opponent, Jake Paul, is a controversial figure, with many critics arguing that he is only seeking monetary fame. These people felt justified when Jake Paul later took on Anthony Joshua and was outclassed heavily.
