Michigan Woman Wins $6M, Vows to Change Others’ Lives

A woman from Michigan has won a staggering $6 million from the Michigan Lottery. While such a sum is usually life-changing, the woman said that she doesn’t have a plan for any big changes in her life other than using the money to help others.

According to the Michigan Lottery’s official announcement, the 63-year-old Clinton County woman won her amazing prize from the lottery’s Millionaire Maker instant game. The winning ticket was sold at Exit 76 – Westphalia, located at 305 South Westphalia Street in Westphalia.

The lottery clarified that Westphalia is a village located 25 miles north of Lansing.

Lottery officials confirmed that the woman visited the Michigan Lottery HQ to claim her significant prize. Like many lottery winners, she rejected the annuity and went with the one-time lump sum option of $4.1 million.

While the woman chose to remain anonymous, she did speak with the lottery about her plans for the money.

The Woman Hopes to Change the Lives of Others

In an interview with the Michigan Lottery, the lucky woman said that she is a regular lottery player who really enjoys the thrill and fun of it. However, she admitted that she had never expected to win such a sum.

The woman told the lottery that she got the $6 million ticket while she was trading in a few winning ones. She didn’t scratch it until later that night, but when she did, she was left in shock.

I frantically called my daughter, and she thought she was going to have a heart attack after I told her I’d just won $6 million! I called my husband next and told him I had a big surprise for him when he got home.

The woman added that her family quickly showed up with a bottle of champagne to celebrate the occasion.

As for her plans, the woman said that she doesn’t plan to change her life much, but she does plan to use the money to change others’ lives. For starters, she plans to start college funds for her grandchildren. In addition to that, she will use some of her money to donate.
