Michigan Lottery Player Tries His Luck, Wins $1M from Instant Game
A 32-year-old man from Sanilac County won one of the grand prizes from the Lottery's instant game, Diamond Wild Time

An incredibly lucky young man from Sanilac County, Michigan, tried his luck by purchasing several scratch-off tickets from the Michigan Lottery. To his surprise, he scored one of the remaining top prizes from the Lottery’s popular instant game, Diamond Wild Time.
The 32-year-old man, who chose anonymity, purchased five lottery tickets from Scott’s Quik Stop at 5 North Van Dyke Road in Marlette. Little did he expect that one of those scratch-off tickets would bring him $1 million from the Diamond Wild Time instant game.
The Lottery confirmed Monday that the lucky winner recently visited its headquarters to claim the big prize. Although the 32-year-old had an option to secure the full $1 million through annuity payments, he picked a lump cash sum. As a result, the lucky winner collected approximately $634,000.
Considering the latest $1 million win, there is only one such grand prize left up for grabs in Diamond Wild Time. Out of the 52 prizes of $10,000 each, there are 25 remaining, while another 447 prizes of $1,000 also remain in play.
Nearly 916,000 prizes remain in the popular instant game out of the initial total which was 2,002,889.
The overall odds of winning a prize from Diamond Wild Time are 1 in 3.45 and each ticket costs $20.
Several Tickets Purchased “On a Whim”
Collecting his lottery prize, the 32-year-old player was asked what he plans to do with the money. The Sanilac County man responded that he planned to save the winnings and refrained from disclosing if he had any further plans.
“When I stopped at the store, I bought five lottery tickets on a whim,“
revealed the winner of $1 million from Michigan Lottery’s Diamond Wild Time instant game
The lucky winner said that he recently stopped by Scott’s Quik Stop and purchased five tickets to try his luck. He scratched off the tickets in his car and saw a star symbol with the “1MIL” text underneath it.
The man admitted he didn’t believe he actually won $1 million and went back home, asking his girlfriend to check the ticket with the Lottery’s app. The scan reaffirmed the 32-year-old man’s triumph who admitted that this is when it finally “hit” him that he won one of the grand prizes from the Diamond Wild Time instant game.
