The Michigan Lottery announced that a lucky player has won the latest Lotto 47 jackpot. What made this win so special, however, was the fact that this was the largest jackpot this game has ever awarded.

Lucky Player Wins the Largest Lotto 47 Jackpot in Michigan History

On December 15, the Michigan Lottery confirmed that the Saturday Lotto 47 drawing had crowned a winner. While the player has yet to come forward to claim their prize, once they do, they will be in for a $32.91 million payday. Officials encouraged the winner to contact the Lottery’s Player Relations.

For context, the winning numbers drawn Saturday were 2, 3, 12, 15, 16, and 33. Officials noted that the winning ticket was sold at Wild Bills Tobacco, located at 46518 Gratiot Avenue in Chesterfield, 35 miles north of Detroit.

As mentioned, the $32.91 million jackpot is the highest prize the Lotto 47 game has ever awarded. The prior record was held by a $32.3 million jackpot, which was split between two winners in 2020. The two winning tickets were bought in Ferndale and Lake Odessa, the lottery pointed out.

The Michigan Lottery also noted that the Saturday jackpot was the third game Lotto 47 has awarded in 2025, following a $1.3 million win in January and a $5.46 million win in April.

The Powerball Jackpot Soars

In the meantime, the Powerball jackpot has continued to grow after going unclaimed for yet another drawing. The prize, which stood at $1.1 billion at the time of yesterday’s drawing, has now reached an estimated $1.25 billion with a cash value of $572.1 million, making it one of the largest jackpots in the history of the game.

The growing jackpot comes after a busy Mega Millions season that awarded two top prizes within a few days of one another. The first was a spectacular $980 million jackpot that went to a player from Georgia, while the other one went to a player in New Jersey.

Elsewhere, Ireland’s National Lottery just announced that a player has won the life-changing $20 million EuroMillions jackpot. While the winner has yet to come forward, the lottery said that the winning ticket was sold in Cavan.
