Mega Millions Jackpot Surpasses $100M for Upcoming Drawing

Late last month, an incredibly lucky player from New Jersey hit the jackpot from Mega Millions. To win the mind-blowing $1.13 billion jackpot, the player guessed correctly all winning numbers from one of the last drawings for last month. The $1.13 billion jackpot marked the fifth-largest grand prize for the lottery game. The largest-ever Mega Millions jackpot was won in Florida, a staggering $1.6 billion.

Two weeks after the Mega Millions grand prize was won, the jackpot continues to grow. The jackpot successfully survived the Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday, April 9, and has now surpassed the mouth-watering $100 million. With the next drawing scheduled for Friday, April 12 at 11 PM ET, the jackpot is estimated at $125 million.

It is important to note that this sum is payable in case the winning player selects annual installments. In case a lottery player guesses correctly all winning numbers from the upcoming drawing, they can also select a lump cash sum. According to Mega Millions, for the upcoming drawing, this sum would be $57.3 million, a far cry from the whopping $125 million but still a life-changing prize.

The winning numbers from the latest Mega Millions drawing were white balls 34, 43, 51, 52 and 69, along with the Gold Mega Ball 25. While nobody won the jackpot from Tuesday’s drawing, two lucky winners secured a $1 million prize each for guessing correctly all white balls. On the other hand, eight players collected $10,000 each for guessing correctly the Gold Mega Ball along with four white balls, while three took home a hefty $40,000 Megaplier prize each.

Powerball Jackpot on the Rise

Just like the Mega Millions jackpot dropped recently, so did the grand prize from Powerball. On Saturday, one Oregon player who guessed correctly all drawn winning numbers hit the lottery game’s staggering $1.33 billion jackpot. The jackpot represented Powerball’s fourth-largest grand prize and marked the biggest win ever in Oregon.

After Powerball’s grand prize was won, the jackpot started to grow once again from $20 million. According to data from the popular lottery game, the next jackpot is estimated at $46 million, while its cash value is $21.5 million. The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2024.
