Liverpool Looking Unstoppable Right Now
Not only are Arne Slot’s men doing great in the Premier League, but they’re also sitting at the very top of the UEFA Champions League table ahead of the fifth game week. They’re the only team in the 2024-25 UCL season that still has a 100% record.

The best thing is that they defeated some pretty tough opponents, namely, AC Milan (3:1 on the road), Bologna (2:0 at home), RB Leipzig (1:0 on the road), and Bayer Leverkusen (4:0 at home). Sure, none of those teams are as great as Real Madrid, but the Reds are probably very optimistic about their chances.
One of the reasons for that is that the Liverpool vs. Real Madrid game is played at Anfield. That’s the place where Liverpool are on a 7-win streak. However, that’s also where they suffered a humiliating 5:2 loss to Real Madrid last year.
Real Madrid Players Need to Up Their Game
Real Madrid’s 2024 roster looks incredible. In fact, one may argue that this is the best squad of players Real Madrid’s ever had, better even than the “Galacticos” with Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, and others.
In 2024, coach Carlo Ancelotti has superstars like Vinicius Jr., Kylian Mbappe, and Jude Bellingham at his disposal. With such elite players (and the coach), Los Blancos should have no problems cruising to another Champions League title. They should, but they haven’t been doing it.
Instead, they lost 50% of their 2024-25 UCL games. First, they lost to Lille on the road 1:0. Their second defeat of the campaign happened against AC Milan in Madrid, with the final score of 3:1.
They need to do better this time around, but the trouble is that they will probably miss a couple of first-team players. Their first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is expected to miss the game, and the same goes for center-back Eder Militao, full-backs Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazques, defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, and attacker Rodrygo.
Liverpool vs. Real Madrid Prediction
Liverpool’s form is superb, but we doubt they can smash Real Madrid. Los Blancos are a fantastic team that just needs to start acting like that. We suspect that might start happening soon. In fact, we predict they’ll really up their game from this coming Wednesday and get themselves a win.
Pick: Liverpool
