Light & Wonder Set to Enter the Philippines with iGaming Launch

Light & Wonder is getting ready for a big move in Asia as the company prepares to roll out its iGaming platform in the Philippines. The global gaming supplier recently became the first international systems aggregator and content provider to earn accreditation from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), clearing the way for its official launch.

In July, the company announced it received a gaming-related vendor license from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority, the organization responsible for regulating commercial gaming in the UAE.

Entering Its 47th Regulated Global Market

Once live, the Philippines will mark the company’s 47th regulated market worldwide and its very first in Asia. The announcement was made during the Philippine iGaming Symposium in Manila, where Light & Wonder shared details of its local strategy.

The timing comes as the country’s eGames sector continues to surge. Last week, PAGCOR’s chairman and chief executive officer, Alejandro Tengco, spoke about the industry’s record $1.2 billion in gross gaming revenue obtained in the first seven months of 2025

Against that backdrop, Light & Wonder is positioning itself as a major player in the region.

“We Won’t Be Reinventing the Wheel”

A key part of the rollout involves bringing familiar titles into the online space. “One of the main cornerstones of our strategy is that we won’t be reinventing the wheel,” said Magdalena Podhorska-Okolow, vice-president commercial – MD Europe, iGaming

“We already have a lot of great customers today in the land-based side, and through these relationships we know what’s working in the market today. We know which game families are working, we know which games the Filipino players have learned to love over the years, and these are the games and the IP that we’ll be bringing digital versions of.”

Podhorska-Okolow explained that 50 titles have already been submitted for approval, including many popular games from casino floors. By leaning on its omnichannel model, the company aims to connect its land-based and online businesses seamlessly.

“What this means is that a lot of our games that you can find on the land-based casino floors today, you can also find those games online,” she said.

She also highlighted jackpot products that operate across both channels, allowing players to contribute in casinos or online. “All of these products, and with the omnichannel focus, will help not only acquire players into online but also achieve great value from players playing on both channels.”

5,000+ Games from 100+ Providers, Underway

Light & Wonder’s strategy also leans heavily on aggregation. Operators will gain access to more than 5,000 games from over 100 studios, giving them a wide portfolio to engage local players.

“We’ve been very busy, we’ve scaled up appropriately, and we’re ready to now approach the Philippine regulated market,” Podhorska-Okolow said. She added that the company has opened an office in Clark, hired local iGaming teams, and is already integrating with operators ahead of the launch. At the end of last month, Light & Wonder entered a unique partnership with OpenTag and FIRST, in a desire to hit the refresh button on the B2B gaming sector in LatAm and other markets.
