Las Vegas Restaurant Manager Nabbed for Alleged Loan Scam and Threats
According to police, the 46-year-old son of Las Vegas restaurateur Fredrick "Freddie" Glusman secured a substantial $1.5 million loan in September 2024

Evan Glusman, whose dad is well-known Las Vegas restaurant owner Fredrick “Freddie” Glusman, got picked up by cops this past weekend. He is in hot water over some serious offences – financial misconduct and violent threats.
Evan Glusman Allegedly Took Out Unauthorized $1.5M Loan, Threatened Shooting at Iconic Vegas Restaurant
The police say the 46-year-old, who used to run operations at Piero’s Italian Cuisine, took out a big $1.5 million loan last September. He used the restaurant as backup for the loan, but cops claim he did not have the right to do that. They think the paperwork for the loan might be old or even tampered with. These papers made it look like Evan Glusman owned or controlled the business, but the police has stated this is not accurate.
Piero’s, a famous spot near the Las Vegas Convention Center, has strong ties to the city. It opened in 1982 and moved in 1987. The place has long attracted celebrities and politicians for dining. It even showed up in Martin Scorsese’s movie Casino.
Things took a scary turn on April 25. Evan Glusman had a falling out with his dad over a loan issue. After that, he sent a scary text to an employee, reported 8 News Now. In the message, he said he was drinking and planned to come back with a gun to hurt people inside the restaurant. This scary text made the Las Vegas Metro Police jump into action right away.
Police showed up at the restaurant that day, and Evan Glusman even called them while they were there. A SWAT team caught him the next morning. They also searched his house with a warrant.
Judge Grants Bail to Evan Glusman Amid Ongoing Fraud Probe
On April 27, in court, Judge Amy Ferriera let Evan Glusman out on a $20,000 bond. She said he had to wear a GPS tracker. She also ordered him to stay away from the restaurant and his dad.
Josh Tomsheck, Evan Glusman’s lawyer, did not want to say more about the case. Police are still looking at the loan papers. They said Evan Glusman might face more charges for financial crimes.
Evan Glusman will show up again in Las Vegas Justice Court on May 29.
The case brings back memories of Piero’s complicated history. People connected to organized crime once had ties to the restaurant’s old location. In 2005, police arrested two former NYPD detectives at Piero’s for their part in mafia-related killings. Even with these connections, Piero’s has stayed a key part of Las Vegas dining. However, the current issue stands out as one of its biggest internal problems in recent years.
