Las Vegas Local Places $3 Wager to Walk Away a Millionaire

Visitors in Las Vegas may always be on the lookout for a jackpot win before they return home, but so are locals

While tourism has been stagnant in Las Vegas, Nevada, locals have made use of the tempting offers put forward by casinos. One local, in particular, walked away from a Henderson casino all the richer, following a $3 wager on the Wheel of Fortune Cash Link Big Money by IGT.

Playing at the Sunset Station, the person flipped their small wager into the eye-watering $1,048,675.87 jackpot. While news about the winner was limited to a few social media postings, jackpot Friday did not stop there.

One player at Palace Station successfully won the $437,311 progressive jackpot from the Station Casinos’ linked Pai Gow Poker, making for another decent story that very same day.

Beyond the Vegas Glamor, Illinois Player Wins $500K

Moving outside of Las Vegas, another jackpot was won – this time from the lottery in Illinois. A player turned a $500,000 win from the Holiday Bucks scratch-off game. The player chose to remain anonymous, much like those Vegas winners, but “Jessie” was happy to exchange some friendly banter with officials and let in lottery aficionados on how her win came to be.

“I was running errands at Walmart and decided to grab one of the new holiday-themed tickets on my way out. I was in a hurry, so I just scratched the barcode on the ticket and scanned it at the machine. You wouldn’t believe how big my eyes got when “$500,000” popped up on the screen,” she explained.

Jessie and her husband will focus on giving back and getting a few affairs in order now.
