On January 1, a player at Boyd Gaming’s Suncoast Hotel and Casino hit a jackpot of $106,437, cementing them as one of the first jackpot winners for the year. In its official release, published on January 6, Boyd Gaming clarified that the jackpot was won from a $5 wager.

Shortly before the clock hit 5 am, the player placed a winning bet on a Dragon Cash machine, turning their $5 bet into a huge New Year’s payday.

In the meantime, a player at Rampart Casino in Las Vegas won a similar prize from a Lightning Link slot. According to reports, the huge prize was won from a $75 wager.

The prizes will certainly be a great start of the year for the two players, allowing them to underpin their New Year resolutions with some cash.

Gamblers Won Jackpots in Time for the Holidays

The first jackpots for the year potentially mark another year of jackpot fever in America. In 2024 players all over the United States won casino jackpots ranging from several thousand dollars to seven-figure prizes.

One fortunate Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood visitor, for example, won almost $3 million two weeks before Christmas. A visitor from Texas, on the other hand, fired up the reels of a Wheel of Fortune slot at the same casino to win a life-changing $1.5 million prize.

Mississippi Players Won Big in 2024

In the meantime, players in Mississippi claimed millions of dollars in prizes in 2024. A recent report listed the biggest winners in the state for the year, highlighting numerous six and seven-figure prizes.
