Social media has been buzzing ever since a clip surfaced of Kick streamer “TheGoobr” asking a friend for a $50,000 loan live on stream, then losing the entire amount almost immediately.
The friend wasn’t even watching the stream at the time. They were in the middle of an exam and stepped out of the classroom to send the money, only to have it disappear within 20 seconds on a blackjack hand.
“Difficult to Ignore”
The clip was shared by X user Ivar Navarro, who wrote: “Here is another clip from TheGoobr’s stream where he begs someone for a loan. Ever since I learned about this situation, it has been difficult to ignore. This will be my last tweet on the matter and my final call for @shufflecom to take proper action and terminate his contract.”
“His contract will not help him repay his debt. It is only making things worse because he uses it as collateral to justify gambling amounts he clearly cannot afford to lose. I would like to hear you guys’ thoughts on this.” the user added.
The clip set off a wave of criticism, with many people saying the behavior is reckless and unfair to the people he borrows from.
Many Questions Linger
A lot of the conversation focused on whether Shuffle, the crypto casino that sponsors him, should cut ties. Others questioned whether the situation was staged or whether the streamer receives balance top-ups from the casino.
Navarro has posted other clips suggesting this isn’t a one-time incident. According to him, TheGoobr often borrows money from viewers and acquaintances, sometimes offering 2% interest in return. TheGoobr responded on X, accusing Navarro of trying to stir up drama, but the pushback hasn’t slowed down.
Meanwhile, the streamer’s own X posts show he’s been dealing with large amounts of debt. He recently claimed he was leaving Shuffle and that another casino gave him a $200,000 sign-up bonus.
He framed it as a “last resort” because of how much he owes. In another post, he shared a screenshot showing $3.8 million in losses over 90 days, which only added to the concern from fans who have urged him to stop gambling and get help.
Despite all the backlash, it doesn’t look like he plans to step back anytime soon.
