Kalshi Invites Players to Join Its $1B March Madness Challenge

In case no one fills a perfect bracket, the challenge will pay out $1 million to the top-scoring bracket

Kalshi is bracing for March Madness, once again launching its $1 billion bracket challenge. The 2026 edition of the challenge will provide fans with a shot at earning a life-changing prize of a billion dollars if they can correctly predict all 63 NCAA Tournament games.

A Perfect Bracket Would Earn Its Owner $1B

Predicting 63 games is easier said than done, with the chances sitting at 1 in 120 billion even if a player truly understands the game. However, this is also one of the best chances for basketball fans to truly show their knowledge of the sport and potentially be rewarded for it.

Kalshi’s $1 billion March Madness challenge is available to players over 18 in the US. To top it all off, it is free to enter and only requires players to register an account, verify their identity, and fill a bracket.

It should be noted that players in New York and Florida cannot enter the challenge, and neither can NCAA or Kalshi insiders.

Those interested in participating should make haste as they need to submit their picks by 1 pm ET on March 19 or before the tip-off of the first game of the season, if that comes first. Additionally, Kalshi will accept only up to 10 million entries, with players allowed to submit only one bracket.

In case no one fills a perfect bracket, the challenge will pay out $1 million to the top-scoring bracket. The money will be split between all such brackets in case of ties. Additionally, Kalshi’s financial backer for this challenge, SIG Parametrics, vowed to donate $1 million to charity.

One for the History Books

As mentioned, guessing the outcomes of all games is very unlikely. If all picks are made at random, that would mean the chances of winning are 1 in 9.2 quintillion. However, experts say that understanding the sport well enough could narrow down these chances to 1 in 120 billion.

In any case, no player has ever submitted a perfect March Madness bracket. If this were to happen now, it would not only grant the winner $1 billion but also etch their name in basketball history.
