Joe Musgrove Becomes Sycuan Casino Resort’s First MLB Ambassador
San Diego landmark Sycuan Casino Resort has agreed to a one-year deal with San Diego Padres starting pitcher Joe Musgrove. This will mark the top casino and resort destination’s first Major League Baseball ambassador deal.
Musgrove Will Make Exclusive Appearances at the Casino
As part of the agreement, the pitcher will make exclusive appearances at the casino and also be featured in future promotional campaigns, including social media campaigns. Sycuan’s general manager Rob Cinelli expressed the resort’s excitement and honor for receiving the pitcher’s support and being able to welcome him into the Sycuan family as their very-first Major League Baseball ambassador.
Cinelli called the player “the perfect fit” for the brand given his close connection to the local community in the city. Musgrove spent his childhood playing baseball close to the Sycuan Reservation and went to Grossmont High School in El Cajon, which propelled him as a powerful two-way player during his junior season. The player who previously represented the Toronto Blue Jays, Houston Astros, and Pittsburgh Pirates is currently playing for the San Diego Padres in his hometown.
Determined to write history for his baseball-loving beloved community, he managed to set several career highs as soon as he joined the team. He pitched 181.1 innings and recorded 203 strikeouts. He also managed to throw Padres’ first no-hitter during its 52-year history as a franchise at the Globe Life Field when playing against the Texas Rangers on April 9 in 2021.
Sycuan is eager to provide guests with exclusive casino experiences with the help of the new endorsement deal that will expire after a year.
The Pair Talk About Shared Beliefs
Musgrove also expressed his excitement regarding the new endorsement deal, calling the Sycuan Casino Resort a “longtime supporter” of his current team, as well as the embodiment of Padres baseball at the resort via the exclusive Padres Club Sycuan Card along with the Padres Hotel Suite that is not available in any other location.
He also mentioned their shared San Diego roots and rejoiced at the opportunity to represent the “well-known local brand” that focuses on constantly helping the local community, while offering fun times and cool entertainment to baseball supporters.
At the beginning of May, DraftKings Marketplace partnered with Metabilia and announced a new NFT collection that would feature Joe Musgrove and other popular players including Fernando Tatís Jr and Ronald Acuña Jr. Sycuan Casino Resort has close to four decades of experience under its belt since it started as a small bingo venue. Now, Sycuan is a Triple-A Four Diamond-rated property featuring a 12-story high hotel tower that can host guests in 300+ rooms and close to 60 luxury suites. The casino floor hosts over 2,300 slot machines and 50+ table games.
