Jamahal Hill Determined to Prove His Doubters Wrong

Jamahal Hill (12-3-1) is a former champ who won the title in 2023 by beating Glover Teixeira. It’s a great achievement, but his doubters’ argument is that his opponent was 43 at the time.

He was given the shot at the title after beating Thiago Santos by TKO. But this guy too was past his prime at the time – Santos came to that fight after going 1-4 in the previous three years.

Hill’s reign didn’t end with a defeat. Instead, he vacated the title due to an injury. But since then, he’s without a win. First, he got KO-ed by Alex Pereira in the first round in the fight for the title. Then, he lost by a TKO to Jiri Prochazka.

Despite all this, he’s still flying high in the UFC Light Heavyweight Division, but another loss could see him drop down significantly in the rankings.

Reasons Why Khalil Rountree Jr. is Favored to Win

Khalil Rountree Jr. is 13-6-1 overall with his most recent loss happening to Alex Pereira last October. He lost by a fourth-round TKO but it was a hell of a fight. No other fighter had given such war to Poatan before.

The loss in the title fight marked the end of Rountree’s 5-fight winning streak, four of which he won by KO/TKO. This stat shows what he’s all about. He’s a fantastic striker with an extensive background in Muay Thai.

This guy kicks like a horse and lands plenty of jabs in practically every fight. He also moves fast around the Octagon, which makes him hard to hit. And when he gets hit, it doesn’t hurt him much. Pereira hit him 127 times, but he kept on going.

Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree Jr. Prediction

We think Rountree is an elite fighter that belongs among the best. The same doesn’t apply to Hill. He had his break in the UFC Light Heavyweight Division, but that time’s gone now. He lost by KO to Pereira and by TKO to Prochazka in his last two fights, and we predict that another loss inside the distance is on the way.

Pick: Khalil Rountree Jr. by KO/TKO
