Intoxicated Lottery Winner Attacks Guest with Pool Cue
The victim told The Sun that a good hit could have left him seriously hurt and said that the attacker should be held to account

A Brit who won a multi-million jackpot a few years ago has been caught on camera attacking a guest in his home. While the victim has escaped mostly unharmed, he said that the attack has been traumatizing.
The Lottery Winner Invited Three Pub Pals to His Home
Paul Long, 62, made headlines in 2018 when he won the UK LOTTO jackpot, securing himself a GBP 9.3 million prize. While this win was certainly something to celebrate, it didn’t protect Long from future trouble.
Long recently went to his local pub, where he made acquaintances with a couple and a friend of theirs, who ended up being the victim of the incident. Long later invited the trio to his home for a few drinks, which they accepted, unaware of the situation that was about to unfold.
As reported by The Sun, Long got intoxicated and ended up attacking one of the guests with a pool cue. The whole ordeal was captured on camera by the person who was being attacked.
The Victim Felt Uneasy Before the Incident
Despite the great start to the night, the victim couldn’t help but notice that Long’s mood had darkened. As Long kept drinking, he started appearing “depressed,” according to the unfortunate guest. Due to the unease he felt, the person took out his phone and started filming, just to make sure he captured any potential oddities.
In an interview with The Sun, the victim said:
I had a strong gut instinct and was proved right. Then the attack came out of the blue and was quite random.
Victim’s statement
The victim added that, fortunately, the cue only clipped the side of his head before smashing into a cupboard. The video shows Long swinging the pool cue at the guest who flinches.
The victim told The Sun that a good hit could have left him seriously hurt. He noted that Long didn’t hold back and swung at him “with everything he had.”
His behavior was disgraceful, and he should be held to account.
Victim’s statement
Long Wanted to Apologize
The guests promptly left the property and called the police. However, officers were unable to identify a problem at the time.
The Sun eventually contacted Long, who did not dispute what had happened, but said that he didn’t remember a thing because he had been very drunk at the time of the incident. He added that he had been looking for the victim at the pub, hoping to apologize, but had not managed to meet him.
Long added that the couple came back on the next day and, when told that he didn’t remember a thing, informed him of what had transpired. He added that he apologized to them.
