IGT Celebrates 30 Years of Jackpots and Wheel of Fortune Slots

The developer of some of the most refined land-based casino experiences has announced an important milestone in its company history

It has been 30 years since IGT launched its vaunted Wheel of Fortune Slots game, the company touted in a press release shared on Thursday, January 29. The company celebrated the storied career of the Wheel of Fortune Slots, which continue to be a central piece of gaming floors across the United States and beyond.

Furthermore, IGT noted that Wheel of Fortune Slots has been the first licensed slots game, along with the fact that the jackpots built into the games pay $1-million-plus prizes.

However, IGT does not intend to coast on its past achievements, and has instead used the humble brag of a press release to also announce new product launches, various social media activations, and collaborations with slots personalities.

Commenting on the achievement and the road ahead, IGT CEO Hector Fernandez said:

“For three decades, IGT’s Wheel of Fortune Slots have captivated slots players around the world and earned a reputation for delivering world-class entertainment combined with huge jackpots in casinos and online. Through our relationship with Sony Pictures Television and Carnival Cruise Line, IGT created a robust campaign for 2026 that honors the legacy of Wheel of Fortune Slots, while rewarding players and delivering value to our customers worldwide.”

Among the new activities for players are the Spin and Sail Cruise, presented with Carnival Cruise Line, which will have players compete for an eight-day cruise aboard the Carnival Jubilee, and have a chance to participate in a subsequent event – a $1-million slot tournament!
