IBIA Q1 2026 Integrity Report Highlights 70 Suspicious Matches
Additional IBIA data highlighted suspicious alerts reported in Brazil and the strength of the local betting market
The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) published the latest edition of its Integrity Report, covering the first quarter of 2026. In its publication, the integrity body said that it has identified 70 suspicious games across 10 sports.
The Report Highlights Soccer as the Sport with the Most Alerts
The Q1 2026 Integrity Report shows that the IBIA recorded 70 suspicious alerts. A breakdown of these alerts shows that Europe recorded the highest number of suspicious games and was responsible for 20 (28%) of the Q1 alerts. Next up was North America with 14 (20%) of all alerts. Asia, South America and Africa had 9 (13%), 6 (9%), and 6 (9%) of all alerts attributed to them, respectively.
In addition to that, eSports, which is not tied to a specific geographical location, recorded 15 alerts (21%).
The IBIA report revealed soccer as the sport that was most associated with suspicious matches. Official data shows that a total of 25 alerts (36% of all alerts) were tied to the sport. Tennis came in second with 16 alerts (24%), with eSports trailing it with 15 (21%) alerts. Table tennis was next with a total of 7 alerts (10%), with volleyball recording another 2 (3%). Badminton, handball, cricket, MMA, and basketball were responsible for a single alert each.
IBIA: Brazil Betting to Dominate the LATAM Region
Additional IBIA data highlighted suspicious alerts reported in Brazil. Brazil, which regulated sports betting a year ago, has been a fast-growing market and quickly cemented itself as a leading force in South American gaming.
However, IBIA data suggests that the launch of regulated sports betting could have led to a spike in suspicious alerts. For reference, only 7 alerts were reported in 2024 compared to 2025 when the number increased to 25. From 2021 to 2025, the IBIA has recorded a total of 68 such alerts in Brazil, the large majority of which (51) were related to soccer.
IBIA’s Brazil Focus segment predicts that the licensed sports betting GGR could continue to soar and reach BRL 23.7 billion by 2030. The predictions also forecast a gradual, albeit slower, growth in offshore GGR too, expecting it to reach BRL 5.1 billion by 2030. For comparison, Brazil reported licensed GGR of BRL 16.7 billion for 2025, as well as offshore GGR of BRL 4 billion.
The IBIA is also certain that Brazil will continue to dominate the LATAM region in terms of sports betting.
Previously, the IBIA published an integrity report covering the entirety of 2025.
