Green Bay Packers Ready to Make Things Interesting in NFC North

The Green Bay Packers are coming to Ford Field after a big win over the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day – they won the game 30:17.

They were even more impressive a week earlier when we saw them beat the San Francisco 49ers 38:10. However, both of those games took place at Lambeau Field. The last time they played away from their home was in Week 11 when they beat the Chicago Bears by just one point.

In the Week 14 TNF game, they’re traveling to Detroit – does this mean they’re in trouble? Well, they sort of have a good record against the Lions in away games. Last season, for example, they beat them 29:22.

Still, the Lions from last season aren’t the same as the 2024 Lions. This year, they’re doing phenomenal. In fact, they’ve already defeated the Packers once this season. The game was played in Green Bay, and the visitors won 24:14. Will they do something similar on Thursday when they play on their turf?

Detroit Lions Looking Unstoppable Right Now

The Detroit Lions are 11-1 overall, with their only loss happening back in September when they lost 20:16 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home.

Since then, they’re 10-0 with wins over some really tough opponents – the Minnesota Vikings, the Houston Texans, and even the Green Bay Packers.

Led by Jared Goff, their offense has been stellar throughout the season, scoring at least 20 points in each of their last 10 games. Their defense has been incredible as well, conceding just 16.9 points per game on average. In comparison, the Packers’ defense is allowing 20.0.

The Detroit Lions are favored by bookmakers, but we feel as if the point spread is too extreme. They’re seen as 6-point favorites in the Week 14 TNF game, which we think is way too much.

The Packers are a fine team that’s in great shape right now, which is why we suspect this is going to be a much closer game than expected. In fact, we wouldn’t be shocked if the visitors managed to grab a win in the end. Still, one thing we’re pretty confident of is that they won’t lose by more than a TD.
