Gambling Streamer’s Misclick Leads to Massive Loss

This incident is a reminder that excitement and precision rarely mix, especially when there are thousands of dollars on the line

Rydurz, a streamer with more than 26,000 followers, was playing live dealer blackjack when disaster struck. A split-second mistake turned into a cautionary tale for gambling streamers, after the Kick creator watched a single misclick during a routine blackjack game spiral into a six-figure loss live on camera.

Mounting Frustration Led to Poor Judgment

The incident began with what seemed like a straightforward hand. Rydurz had $5,000 on the table and was sitting on a strong 19 against a dealer’s nine. Confident that victory was almost certain, he stood up from his chair in celebration, telling his chat that this hand could finally turn the session around. Then came the misclick.

Instead of standing, Rydurz accidentally hit. The extra card brought the total to 23, resulting in a bust. Moments later, the dealer revealed another nine, confirming that the original 19 would have beaten the house. What would have been a $10,000 win was gone in a single unintentional click.

The atmosphere shifted immediately as Rydurz got frustrated and lost his self-control. Throughout the rest of the stream, he played far riskier than normal, aiming to recoup his losses. By the time he logged off, he was down roughly $150,000. Clips of the incident quickly circulated on social media, with responses ranging from sympathy to disbelief to criticism.

Gambling Streamers Face Greater Pressure

While painful, Rydurz’s loss aligns with the experiences of many other gambling-related streamers who must juggle entertainment value with risk management. Streaming often amplifies emotions, leading to wins feeling bigger, losses more painful, and the pressure to keep the audience engaged can push creators to unnecessary recklessness.

Recent history is full of creators who suffered even bigger losses. Earlier this year, streamer Xposed told his followers he was struggling mentally after another heavy gambling session. He had begun losing control, even playing risky $100,000 hands. On one occasion, he  gambled away over $3 million within a single day. Fans supported him online, urging him to step back and focus on his well-being.

Felix “xQc,” one of the most recognizable names in streaming, faced a dramatic meltdown in October 2024. During a single session, he lost approximately $1.5 million and eventually shut off his camera mid-stream. What followed was a heated outburst directed at a game provider, revealing how quickly frustration can set in when losses start to mount.
