In the meantime, New Jersey’s fight against controversial sweepstakes operators continued with a new bill seeking to prohibit the vertical. Senate Bill 4282, which secured approval by the Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism, & Historic Preservation Committee, specifically targets businesses that run sweepstakes-style gambling platforms and bans sweepstakes games that offer prizes in exchange for payment, either directly or through virtual currencies.
More recently, a group of Atlantic City casino workers continued the fight against indoor smoking, which has remained one of the most hotly discussed topics in the state.
