Florida Player Wins $2M from Jackpot Triple Play Ahead of MLK Jr. Holiday

A lucky player in Florida has become $2 million richer after winning the top prize from the lottery’s Jackpot Triple Play game. The win was scored on Friday, just in time for MLK Jr. Holiday.

The Latest Jackpot Triple Play Top Prize Landed

The official Florida Lottery website shows that a lucky player in Lakeland won the most recent Jackpot Triple Play top prize. The fortunate winner did so by matching all six winning numbers in the January 16 drawing.

For context, the winning numbers for the Friday drawing were 2, 5, 12, 21, 22, and 25.

Thanks to matching all numbers, the winner has secured a prize of $2 million. In addition to that, some 37 players matched five of the numbers to win prizes of $949.50 each.

The jackpot has since been reset and is currently standing at $250,000. Drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday, meaning that the next drawing will take place today, at 11:15 pm ET.

Tickets for the Jackpot Triple Play prize cost $1. For an extra dollar participants can combine winning number matches from the three sets for a shot at a $10,000 prize.

More Players in the Sunshine State Won Big

The latest Jackpot Triple Play jackpot landed in the wake of several high-profile wins in the state. These included a win from 2025 that the lottery just announced. It involved a player from Okeechobee who won the top prize from a $15,000,000 GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER scratch-off ticket he bought. The winner opted to take the one-time lump-sum option of $8,968,000 rather than the annuity.

This was notably the last top prize in that game.

Recently, a player at the Seminole Classic Casino in Hollywood, Florida, was able to turn a $2.20 wager on a $0.05 denomination into a $157,744.52 jackpot. The lucky casino guest won the prize from one of Aristocrat’s Dragon Link Golden Century slot machines at the casino.
