According to Florida Lottery officials, four players won seven-figure prizes from the lottery in August
The Florida Lottery has published its regular monthly report, this time highlighting the biggest winners for August. According to the lottery’s official release, five separate players claimed prizes of a million dollars or more.
Opa-locka Man Wins $3M from Mega Millions
The top winner for the month was Keith Royal, 49, of Opa-locka, who won a staggering $3 million from Mega Millions. The winning ticket had the Megaplier feature active, increasing the sum he got.
The winning ticket was sold at Publix, located at 2630 LPGA Boulevard in Daytona Beach. Royal claimed his prize at the Florida Lottery HQ in Tallahassee on August 29.
Scratch-off Ticket Mints a New Orange Park Millionaire
In the meantime, Clotilde Prospere, a woman from Orange Park, secured a life-changing prize of $2 million from the lottery’s Triple Jackpot scratch-off game. The woman went to redeem her prize at the Florida Lottery’s Jacksonville District Office on August 27. Lottery officials said that Prospere selected the lump-sum option of $1,209,700.
For context, the winning ticket was sold at Winn-Dixie Liquor, located at 8560 Argyle Forest Boulevard in Jacksonville. Lottery officials noted that the $2 million Prospere won was one of the game’s four top prizes.
Tallahassee Woman Scoops Up $1M from a Scratcher
The third big winner for August was Yesenia Gonzalez Sandoval, 27, of Tallahassee. According to the lottery’s announcement, he won a $1 million prize from the 500x The Cash scratch-off game. Gonzalez Sandoval went to claim her prize on August 4, opting for the lump-sum option of $640,000.
The winning ticket was purchased from Mr. K Food Store, located at 6645 S.E. Babcock Street in Malabar.
Man Wins $1M from One of the Lottery’s Biggest Games
The last recipient of a seven-figure sum for the month was Marcus Barfield, 38, of Lauderhill, who scooped up a $1 million prize from the Florida Lottery’s $20 Gold Rush Limited scratch-off game. Barfield visited the HQ in Tallahassee on August 11 and took the lump-sum payment of $795,000.
Officials noted that the winning ticket was sold at Deltona Express, located at 2910 Howland Boulevard in Deltona. They also noted that the Gold Rush Limited game, upon launch, featured 32 prizes of $5 million and 100 prizes of $1 million.
