FanDuel Named WTA’s Authorized Gaming Operator in the Americas
Daily fantasy and sportsbook brand FanDuel announced it was designated as an Authorized Gaming Operator of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) in North, South and Central America.
WTA Video Highlights
The new agreement will see the industry-leading daily fantasy sports and sportsbook products of the Flutter Entertainment-owned brand brought directly to fans of the WTA, while tennis will become the first women’s sport to feature video highlights on FanDuel’s digital platforms.
We are incredibly proud of our commitment to supporting women in sports and are continuously looking for new ways to further raise awareness of female athletes, teams, and all women in sports.”
Amy Howe, President and Interim CEO, FanDuel Group
FanDuel Group President and interim CEO Amy Howe further commented on the deal, outlining that the agreement with the WTA aligns with FanDuel’s overall mission to “elevate the profile for talented women in sports,” while the association is a prestigious organization to partner with.
FanDuel is a premier destination for sports fans online and this relationship provides the building blocks for growing our fan base.”
Micky Lawler, President, WTA
Trademarks and Official Data
Under the terms of the deal, FanDuel will gain access to WTA’s trademarks and WTA Tour’s official scoring data from Stats Perform, to offer tennis fans in the Americas opportunities to further engage with the sport via FanDuel’s fantasy sports and legalized sports betting offerings.
This milestone not only delivers on the growing appetite fans have for a more personalized sporting experience, but also paves the way for us to have a proactive role in managing the responsible gambling standards and practices we wish to foster.”
Micky Lawler, President, WTA
The arrangement with FanDuel achieved through WTA’s sponsorship sales agency CSM marks the latest step for the professional tennis association to support growth and exposure of women’s tennis, while its partner will utilize its data integration agreement with Stats Perform to display the benefits of technology and data-driven touch-points and betting products. WTA President Micky Lawler added that the organization’s top priority with its fans is to provide more opportunities to engage with tennis.”
FanDuel and the WTA will also collaborate to promote safe and responsible gaming as part of this new strategic arrangement, as the association, which already joined the National Council on Problem Gambling, is eager to work on the Council’s Safer Sports Betting program.
