F1 Reaffirms Las Vegas Grand Prix Will Be Held for 2 More Years and Beyond

The Las Vegas Grand Prix and Formula 1 have officially confirmed an agreement to continue the race
through 2027, following the success of last year’s event. In addition, both parties have expressed a
strong desire to extend the partnership well beyond the end of the decade.

Las Vegas and F1 Reaffirm Decision for Grand Prix

Clark County has already approved a plan for the Las Vegas Grand Prix to continue through 2032.
Although the 2026 Formula 1 calendar, released last week, includes the Las Vegas race, it was added
despite a formal agreement not yet being finalized.

Emily Prazer, president of the Las Vegas Grand Prix and chief commercial officer of Formula 1, stated
that there are long-term plans in place to continue hosting the race well into the future. According to
her, the goal is to consistently evolve and improve the event, with the intention of establishing a lasting
partnership. She acknowledged the early difficulties the race has faced but expressed confidence in its
direction moving forward. Prazer further noted that while the race has had its challenges, it now has the
priority to remain beneficial for all involved.

Steve Hill, CEO and president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, explained that the
incremental nature of the contract extensions simply reflects practical planning. He noted that
organizers have a clear understanding of what to expect in the coming years. Hill emphasized that the
intention is for the Las Vegas Grand Prix to become a permanent fixture, with contract extensions likely
to grow in duration over time as planning continues.

The 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix is scheduled for November 22, maintaining its now-customary slot on
the weekend before Thanksgiving. According to city officials, the event has transformed what was once
one of the least profitable weekends of the year into one of Las Vegas’ most lucrative.

Historically, November has been among the city’s weaker months for tourism and revenue, but in 2023,
it became the most commercially successful month in Las Vegas’ history. Data released this year showed
that the 2024 race alone generated $934 million in revenue and contributed $45 million in tax revenue.
While last year’s event was successful, it was not conducted without its fair share of problems. Before
the 2024 race began, there was a sizable petition to halt the Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix, as many small
business owners asserted the event led to millions of dollars in losses.

Despite their plea, the 2024 race event proceeded and generated much attention and revenue for other
businesses. Formula 1 has already established a permanent presence in the heart of Las Vegas with the
construction of Grand Prix Plaza, a dedicated facility that serves as the paddock during race weekends.
