DRA Sacks Andy Jenkins for Match-Fixing, Unauthorized Betting
The investigation into Jenkins’ misdemeanor was led by the DRA and supported by the UK Gambling Commission

Andrew “Andy” Jenkins, an English professional darts player was banned and fined after regulators understood that he had been involved with the fixing of a dozen games. To make matters worse, he exploited the fixed games for betting gain.
Jenkins Was Involved in Match-Fixing and Unauthorized Betting
Jenkins, 54, who is also known as “Rocky” because of his rough temperament, has cemented himself as an avid player with multiple tournament participations and a high PDC ranking. While the athlete never won a major tournament, regulators understood that he had a different way to make his games worthwhile.
The Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) reported that Jenkins was involved in the fixing of a staggering 12 matches. The games in question took place between February 22, 2022, and July 5, 2023.
At a hearing with the DRA Disciplinary Committee, regulators understood that he not only fixed games but also passed information relating to the fixed games to sports bettors.
In addition to that, Jenkins admitted to placing wagers himself. During the hearing with the committee, he said that he had used a personal betting account to place 88 bets on matches that took place between March 17, 2022, and May 4, 2023. This is a serious violation of the DRA code, which prohibits players from placing bets on any darts event.
Jenkins Was Banned from Competing
The investigation into Jenkins’ misdemeanor was led by the DRA and supported by the UK Gambling Commission’s (UKGC) Sports Betting Intelligence Unit (SBIU).
As a result of the findings, Jenkins was handed a fine of £17,580.03. He was slapped with an 11-year ban from all DRA-sanctioned events, preventing him from competing professionally. Jenkins can appeal this decision until May 6, according to the DRA.
John Pierce, the UKGC’s director of enforcement, commented on the matter, saying that this penalty “sends a strong and unequivocal message” to all athletes – if they fix games, they will be caught sooner or later and will face dire consequences.
Pierce asserted that consumers in the UK deserve sports betting markets that are fair and free from corruption. To that end, the SBIU will continue to work with various regulatory bodies to ensure that the British sports sector is as fraud-free as possible.
Our Sports Betting Intelligence Unit will continue to work closely with partners such as the Darts Regulation Authority to identify and prevent match-fixing.

Other Players Who Got Banned Recently
Despite Pierce’s repeated warnings, cases of match-fixing continue to emerge.
Jenkins’ ban comes a month and a half after another darts pro, Prakash Jiwa, was found guilty of fixing matches and banned for eight years. Unlike Jenkins, however, Jiwa denied ever doing so. This was not the first time Jiwa had clashed with the DRA either as he had previously suffered a suspension.
In December 2024, the DRA also suspended Leighton Bennett and Billy Warriner who had likewise committed match-fixing violations.
