Connecticut Player Wins $2M from Mega Millions
The Mega Millions jackpot remained unclaimed and has now reached $714 million with an estimated cash value of $334.1 million
A lucky player in Connecticut has become the winner of Mega Millions’ latest seven-figure prize. At the same time, the jackpot remains elusive, promising its eventual winner a life-changing payday.
The Big Jackpot Remains Elusive
Last Friday’s Mega Millions drawing once again failed to elect a winner. Despite that, a single player managed to guess all numbers correctly, with the exception of the Mega Ball.
For reference, the winning numbers for the October 24 drawing were 11, 18, 31, 51 and 56, with a Mega Ball of 24. If the player had guessed the latter number correctly, they would have been in for a $680 million payday, or $318.2 million if they chose the lump cash option.
Regardless, the Connecticut player still managed to scoop up $2 million thanks to the 2x multiplier. They were notably the single recipient of a seven-figure prize from Friday’s drawing.
According to lottery officials, the winning ticket was sold at the Stop & Shop on Lake Avenue in Danbury. As of the time of this writing, however, the winner has yet to come forward to claim their prize.
In the meantime, 12 players nailed four white balls plus the Mega Ball, resulting in various five-figure prizes. Seven players took $20,000 each due to the 2x multiplier. Two players won $30,000 each with a 3x multiplier, while a single one took home $40,000 with a 4x multiplier. Last but not least, two players took $50,000 each thanks to their 5x multiplier.
As mentioned, the Mega Millions jackpot remained unclaimed and has now reached $714 million with an estimated cash value of $334.1 million. The next drawing is set to take place on Tuesday at 11 pm ET.
Connecticut Player Scooped Up $3M from Mega Millions
The $2 million win in Connecticut comes shortly after a separate player, this time in Illinois, missed the Mega Millions jackpot by a hair. The player in question won $3 million thanks to their 3x multiplier.
Reports noted that the winning ticket was sold at a gas station in McHenry, Illinois, with Bull Valley Trio, at 5301 Bull Valley Road, identified as the store that sold the ticket. Store representatives commented on the matter, saying that they hoped that the winner was one of their regular customers.
