Connecticut Lottery Player Claims $2.2M Prize Three Months After Winning

Most players who win the lottery usually rush to claim their prize. However, this wasn’t the case for a winner from Connecticut who won $2.2 million earlier this year.

Lucky Player Won $2.2M from the Lottery

On June 30, the CT Lottery announced that a player in Manchester (Connecticut) had won its big Lotto! prize after correctly matching all six winning numbers. For context, the winning numbers for that drawing were 2, 4, 13, 18, 34, and 38.

According to the CT Lottery’s original announcement, the winning ticket was sold a mere hour before the drawing. It also noted that the winner had purchased their ticket at Mack’s Wine & Liquor on Hartford Road in Manchester. The store was awarded a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

However, the winner of the $2.2 million jackpot did not immediately come forward to claim their money.

The Man Came Forward to Take the Prize Home

Several months after the CT Lottery’s official announcement, the lottery confirmed that the player who had won the $2.2 million Lotto! Jackpot had come forward to claim their money.

In an interview with the CT Lottery, the lucky winner said that he was incredibly happy and wanted to “thank God for this win.” The man told the lottery that the first person he told about his life-changing win was his mother, who is currently almost 100 years old.

The man also noted that his win was in part thanks to his family since he tends to pick his Lotto! numbers based on family members’ birthdays. He added that he plans to use the winnings to travel to India to visit his family.

The winner concluded that he doesn’t plan to stop playing and is looking forward to continuing to engage with the CT Lottery’s games.

Other CT Lottery Players Also Won Big

A few days ago, the CT Lottery announced that a woman from Greenwich had won a $3 million WIN BIG prize. The lottery clarified that the winning ticket was sold at the Shall station on W. Putnam Avenue in Greenwich, which will receive a $30,000 bonus.

At the same time, a man from Manchester won a $25,000 a year for life prize from the CT Lottery’s Lucky For Life draw game. Similarly to the other winner from Manchester, the man and his wife said that they would always pick numbers based on their birthdays.
