Catawba Two Kings Casino’s First Phase Close to Opening in North Carolina
The resort is being developed in stages and will ultimately feature several levels, including covered parking, support facilities, and a main casino floor
The Catawba Indian Nation is getting ready to open the first part of its big casino project in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, in late winter 2026. The tribe’s leaders said the ground floor of the main casino building should start running in February or March.
Catawba Two Kings Resort Begins Transition from Temporary to Full Casino
This early opening is a big step for the $1 billion Catawba Two Kings Casino Resort, which is being built near Interstate 85, about 35 miles west of Charlotte. When it opens, this new gaming area will take the place of the temporary trailer setup that has been serving customers since mid-2021, as reported by The Charlotte Observer.
The ground floor casino will cover about 80,000 square feet and give players lots of gaming choices. The plan includes 1,350 slot machines, over 20 table games, and special kiosks for sports betting. Guests can eat at a full-service restaurant that seats nearly 70 people, plus a smaller bar area for about 18 people.
Workers are building the bigger resort in phases. When it is done, the complex will have multiple floors with covered parking, areas for operations support, and the main gaming floor at the top of the building. They are also working on a tall hotel tower that will connect right to the casino.
Future Casino Complex to Span Two Million Square Feet
When the whole resort opens in spring 2027, it will take up about two million square feet. The completed property will have over 4,000 slot machines, around 100 table games, many places to eat, from casual spots to fancy restaurants, and different bars and lounges. A hotel with 400 rooms will house overnight guests, while thousands of parking spots will handle the rush of visitors.
Beyond the casino project, tribal leaders have talked about bigger plans for government recognition and future gambling chances. The Catawba Nation has turned in paperwork to ask for official recognition from North Carolina and wants to set up a government office in the state to help tribal members.
Furthermore, the tribe is working on laws in South Carolina to get the first bid on future casino building there. The leaders say they will go to court if these plans do not work out. Right now, all eyes are on the opening of the first casino. This will give people their first peek at where the Two Kings Casino Resort will be for good. It also marks the start of a new phase in the tribe’s big growth plan.
