Casino Queen Marquette to Move Inland, Rebrand to Bally’s Marquette

Originally known as Miss Marquette, the riverboat casino was eventually rebranded to Capri Marquette and later to Lady Luck before settling on Casino Queen Marquette

Casino Queen Marquette is set to change its identity as part of a $21 million project that will see the riverboat casino move inland. The property’s new name will be Bally’s Marquette, celebrating its operator and the city it is based in.

A New Chapter for Casino Queen Marquette

The Iowa venue, which will soon be known as Bally’s Marquette, had been owned by Standard General for years. Once the latter company acquired Bally’s in a historic $4.6 billion deal, the property was put under Bally’s control.

Casino Queen Marquette’s move inland was announced shortly before Standard General closed its acquisition of Bally’s. Now that the deal has gone through and the construction of a permanent casino facility is underway, Bally’s confirmed the rebrand to Bally’s Marquette. This mirrors the earlier change of Belle of Baton Rouge to Bally’s Baton Rouge.

The Marquette casino will officially adopt the new name once it moves to the new land-based facility. Until then, the riverboat casino will remain open and will keep the Casino Queen Marquette name.

For context, Bally’s Marquette is expected to open in the first few months of 2026.

The Property Has Changed Names Multiple Times

Casino Queen Marquette or Bally’s Marquette has a long history of changing names. Originally known as Miss Marquette, the riverboat casino was eventually rebranded to Capri Marquette and later to Lady Luck. The name Casino Queen Marquette emerged in March 2017 to mark the property’s acquisition by Queen Casino & Entertainment.

The new name change, however, would truly mark a new chapter for the casino, which will now move inland to a new cutting-edge facility. To that end, Bally’s has committed $21 million to renovating the existing dockside structure that has previously housed the property’s restaurants and concert hall.

This move was made possible by a 2007 legislation which finally allowed riverboat gaming halls to move to permanent brick-and-mortar facilities. Operators welcomed this change with many moving their casinos to land-based venues in the following years.

Bally’s Leadership Hails the Move

Robin Corbeil, Casino Queen Marquette’s general manager, was among those welcoming the opportunity to move inland.

We’re proud to honor Casino Queen Marquette’s deep-rooted connection to the community while ushering in an exciting new era as Bally’s Marquette. This transformation brings the entertainment experience our guests love onto land — making it more accessible, more comfortable, and more dynamic than ever before.
