Caesars and Harveys Lake Tahoe Embark on $160M Renovation Journey

The iconic property will also change its name to Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, reflecting Caesars’ commitment to delivering industry-leading hospitality experiences

Caesars Entertainment is set to dramatically reimagine its historic Harveys Lake Tahoe property with plans for an extensive $160 million renovation. This project will bring high-profile improvements to the venue without disrupting the guest experience, marking a bold new chapter for one of the region’s most iconic casino hotels.

The Property Will Retain Its Iconic Spirit

The reimagined resort, debuting under its new name on July 1, will remain open throughout the phased renovation so that customers can continue enjoying the property’s top-tier offerings. Construction efforts will likely wrap by mid-2026. This project marks Caesars’ most substantial investment in the property, reinforcing its continued support for one of the country’s most picturesque hospitality and gaming destinations.

Located on the south shore of Lake Tahoe, Harveys has been a long-time staple of the region’s casino scene. The venue began its existence as a simple roadside stop in 1944, quickly growing into a cornerstone of Tahoe tourism. Caesars Republic will build on this legacy, honoring its deep traditions while introducing enhanced design, luxury amenities, and attractive culinary offerings.

This transformation honors the storied history of Harveys while introducing modern amenities and elevated experiences that will redefine luxury in Lake Tahoe.

The 1.6 million-square-foot resort will undergo a comprehensive redesign. Marnell Companies, the architectural company behind some of Las Vegas’s most iconic properties, will head the project. Despite the shiny new name and upscale enhancements, Caesars officials remain adamant that the renovation will honor the property’s history, preserve its unique charm, and keep its spirit intact while updating it for the modern age.

Caesars Remains Committed to Supporting Its Iconic Venues

The remodeled Harveys will feature a fully transformed 88,000-square-foot casino floor. A High Limit Room and a dedicated World Series of Poker® Room will further enhance the casino’s gaming options. Future guests will also enjoy a transformed lobby and bar experience, combined with expanded dining options like Gordon Ramsay’s HELL’S KITCHEN and the opulent WOLF by Vanderpump.

Lake Tahoe is a stunning destination, and we’re elated to bring a new world-class resort worthy of its allure to the lakefront.

A complete redo of the Remus Tower (formerly the Mountain Tower) will include new room interiors and butler service for select suites. The Romulus Tower (formerly the Tahoe Tower) will also receive substantial updates, expanding on its 2020 update. Nearby Harrah’s Lake Tahoe is also undergoing renovations of its iconic Summit Suites, with more improvements still to come.

The transformation of Harveys into Caesars Republic marks the latest chapter in Caesars’ ongoing efforts to modernize its property portfolio. The company recently partnered with English television personality Lisa Vanderpump, unveiling plans to refurbish one of Caesars Entertainment’s Sin City properties, turning it into a cutting-edge Vanderpump-themed hotel.
