Boyd New Casino Update: Cadence Crossing to Open March 25
Boyd Gaming has announced March 25 as the opening of Cadence Crossing Casino, a new gaming property in Henderson that will replace the longtime Jokers Wild Casino
It’s official: Boyd Gaming has set the opening date for Cadence Crossing Casino in Henderson, its newest casino in the Las Vegas area. The property will open its doors to the public at noon on Wednesday, March 25.
450 Slot Machines, No Table Games at Opening
Located at 920 N. Boulder Highway, right next to the longtime Jokers Wild casino, the venue will first host a preview that will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and guided tours of the for invited guests, before ushering in the general public.
The gambling venue has been designed as a neighborhood casino meant to serve the fast-growing Cadence community in east Henderson. The development sits within the Cadence master-planned area, which ranked third in the United States in 2025 in terms of new home sales.
The casino will offer more than 450 slot machines along with two restaurants, a central bar, and a lounge area. However, unlike many larger casino resorts in Las Vegas, the property will not include table games when it first opens.
Instead, the focus will be on a smaller, local-style gaming floor with food and drink options for residents in the surrounding area.
Boyd Will Demolish Jokers Wild
The new casino will also eventually replace Jokers Wild, which has been operating on the site for decades. Boyd kept Jokers Wild open while construction on Cadence Crossing took place next door. Once the new property is fully up and running, the company plans to demolish the older building.
Removing Jokers Wild will create space for potential future development. Boyd executives have said the site could eventually expand to include additional amenities, possibly even a hotel.
The Jokers Wild property has a long history in Henderson. The casino originally opened as the Cattle Baron before Boyd Gaming purchased it, renovated it and reopened the venue under the Jokers Wild name in 1993.
Cadence Crossing marks Boyd Gaming’s latest project in Southern Nevada, though it has been many years since the company launched a new property in the region. The company’s last major casino development in Las Vegas was the Stardust on the Strip. Boyd later sold that site in 2013 to Malaysia-based Genting Group, which eventually developed the property into Resorts World Las Vegas, opening it in 2021.
