Betsperts Golf Acquires Fantasy National in Strategic Expansion

Top provider of analytics and insights for golf bettors and fantasy enthusiasts Betsperts Golf has announced last week that it is acquiring Fantasy National Golf Club (FNGC).

The deal came together after FNGC founder Pat Mayo, a prominent sports podcast host, reacquired the golf wagering platform and chose to merge it with Betsperts. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Mayo noted that both websites will continue to operate independently for now, allowing FNGC time to integrate Betsperts’ analytics and data capabilities.

Fantasy National, which operates on a subscription-based model, provides customizable golf data tailored for daily fantasy players and bettors. As part of the acquisition, co-founder Pat Mayo will join Betsperts, where he’ll contribute content and support promotional initiatives for golf and other sports.

While financial details about the new deal were not disclosed, it still marks a huge expansion in Betsperts Golf’s portfolio. Another major deal that Betsperts completed in recent times happened in 2023, when the company acquired Bleacher Nation, which greatly expanded Betsperts’s media outreach.

Officials Talk About the Deal and the Future

Pat Mayo expressed that Betsperts Golf’s commitment to innovation, such as developing new tools while preserving fan-favorite features from Fantasy National, represents the ideal outcome for users. He emphasized his desire to ensure that Fantasy National’s loyal user base would be well cared for during the acquisition and shared his satisfaction with how the Betsperts Group plans to grow both Fantasy National and Betsperts Golf in tandem.

Meanwhile, Betsperts Golf CEO Reid Rooney said that the company will continue managing both platforms, leveraging their unique datasets, user communities, and histories. Together, the golf-focused offerings are projected to generate seven-figure revenue in 2026. In 2022, Betsperts introduced Betsperts Golf in collaboration with Paige Spiranac, featuring original content, podcasts, and proprietary tools. Earlier this year, the company launched a new PGA Tour analytics tool called The Rabbit Hole. 

Rooney shared that Betsperts became profitable in 2024 and has since entered a new phase of growth. The company has secured over $1.5 million in commitments as part of an ongoing funding round. This will support increased marketing efforts for its golf offerings, the launch of a betting-focused subscription on 4for4 (one of Betsperts’ other offerings), and the introduction of a new daily fantasy sports game on the Bleacher Nation Fantasy platform.

Rooney noted in an interview that golf has become a significant part of the business, growing by 50% in each of the past two years. He expressed surprise at the strong user engagement, saying he’s been astonished by the number of people using the tools provided by the company.
