BetBlocker to Launch Portuguese Language Support at SBC Summit

By launching a Portuguese version of its best-in-class software, the company will be able to provide services to some 200 million Portuguese speakers across the world

Gambling harm prevention specialist BetBlocker is set to launch a Portuguese version of its self-exclusion software. This move will allow even more people to leverage its cutting-edge capabilities to get in control of their gambling habits.

The Software Will Tap into the Portuguese-Speaking Community

The Portuguese version of the award-winning software is set to be launched at the SBC Summit in Lisbon. The event is expected to bring together industry leaders, innovators, and professionals from all over the world, making it the perfect place for the launch.

BetBlocker has been decorated with multiple awards, the latest of which include the Jim Wuelfing Annual Award for Prevention from the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) in the US. As a prestigious charity, it is always striving to reach even more people and offer free self-exclusion and problem gambling support to those who need it.

By launching a Portuguese version of its best-in-class software, the company will be able to provide services to some 200 million Portuguese speakers across the world. This is especially important considering Brazil’s ongoing regulatory efforts and the looming advent of regulated betting in the country.

BetBlocker Seeks to Help People in Crisis

Duncan Garvie, founder and trustee for BetBlocker, commented on the upcoming launch of the Portuguese update, saying that it will make the intuitive and easy-to-use software available to more people than ever.

Garvie argued that people who resort to using BetBlocker are often in a “state of crisis,” which is why they should be provided with clear instructions that they can understand. By adding support in more languages, BetBlocker will effectively be able to help people who would have otherwise lacked the support they need.

Garvie specified that each time his team launches the award-winning blocking software in a new language, they see user engagement in the language jump by between 4 and 10 times.

SBC’s managing director, Andrew McCarron was excited that BetBlocker had chosen the SBC Summit to launch its Portuguese version. Considering that the event is set to take place in Lisbon, there couldn’t be a better place for the launch, he argued.

According to McCarron, the dedicated Portuguese language tool will be welcome in both Portugal and Brazil, reaching millions of players.

BetBlocker will feature at the Player Protection Zone at the event, which will run from September 24 to September 25. Garvie will also speak at the Player Protection Symposium, providing further insights into the secrets to shielding players from harm.
