Bally’s Allows Firefighters to Use Its Chicago Site
In the meantime, Bally’s recently secured funding for its permanent casino in Chicago and is preparing to demolish the existing Tribune Freedom Center to make way for its new property.
As the company wraps up preparations for its new casino, it decided to share the old building with the Chicago Fire Department, allowing it to use it as training grounds. This means that firefighters and trainees will be able to use the property to run rescue simulations in order to better prepare for real-life crises.
Such training, according to Chicago Fire Department 1st District Chief Jim McDonough, could make the difference between rescue success and failure.
A Bally’s Chicago spokesperson said that it is happy with the opportunity to make this important contribution to the local community.
Bally’s has been very proactive in pursuing new opportunities. The company’s betting brand, Bally Bet, was just cleared for launch in Maryland, allowing it to tap into yet another regulated market.
Earlier, the company committed to a historic merger agreement with Standard General.
