Australian Man Secures $534K Jackpot, Wins the Gold Lotto Draw

One Hervey Bay man in Queensland, Australia, has secured the eye-watering sum of AUD 820,000 (approximately $534,000) off the Saturday Gold Lotto draw. The money will now go towards paying off the house and investing in the family’s future.

The win is quite significant, as it allows the person to finally settle in life. Of course, the man, who chose to remain anonymous, said that he won’t rely on his own understanding of big money, but rather, turn to a financial advisor.

The winning numbers 43, 21, 37, 33, 32, and 9, with supplementary numbers 17 and 0, are nothing special per se, but the winner had been playing them since 2024, with every ticket he placed since that time running those same numbers.

Taking Care of the Family and Figuring Out the Details

Commenting on his win, the man was incredulous at what had transpired: “I still can’t believe it. I haven’t been able to sleep since. I just keep checking the ticket.” The win itself occurred on October 11, 2025, and is still fresh on his mind.

While figuring out the details, the man said that he was keeping the win temporarily a secret from his wife, at least at the time of being interviewed by the lottery.

“This is life-changing. I have no luck. I’m not a lucky person, but I guess it’s changed, and it’s all been building to this. I’ll have to speak to a financial advisor. We’ll be able to pay off the house and invest the rest for our family’s future,” the winner said.
