The biggest match in women’s soccer in 2025 is played on May 24 in Lisbon, where Barcelona and Arsenal will battle for the UEFA Women’s Champions League crown. Barça is the team that won the UWCL last year, which was their third trophy in history. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s ladies have only won it once, back in 2007.

Barça Femení Favored to Win the 2025 UWCL

Barcelona’s men’s team got knocked out of the Champions League in the semifinal by Inter Milan, who will play against PSG in the Final. That match is played exactly one week after the 2025 UWCL Final, and if you want to see our predictions and picks for the men’s final, make sure to read our PSG vs. Inter preview.

In the women’s final, we expect to see plenty of goals as both teams have been sensational attacking-wise. This goes especially for Barcelona Women who scored at least four goals in each of the four playoff games they’ve played so far.

Barça’s 23-year-old forward Claudia Pina has scored 10 goals in the UWCL knockout stage, as well as five in the group phase. That’s more than any other player in the competition. The best thing is that her form seems to be constantly improving, which has helped Barcelona W win the Spanish Liga F.

Barça W also stand a chance to win the Spanish Copa de la Reina in June, but most importantly, these girls can win the Women’s Champions League on May 24. The only obstacle on their way is Arsenal WFC.

Arsenal Women Football Have Been Real Giant-Slayers This Season

In the semifinal, Arsenal WFC knocked out Lyon. The French side is the team that won the Women’s Champions League the most times – eight. They looked ready to challenge for another title, but the Gunners stopped them. It wasn’t easy, though.

Lyon won their first duel, which took place in London. The final score was 2:1 for the visitors and it looked as if the French ladies were going to get the job done easily in the rematch. But then, Arsenal completely outsmarted them in the second leg, winning the game 4:1.

Striker Alessia Russo was the player of the match, but it was actually team play that won this game for the Gunners. Even though Lyon had more goal attempts, Arsenal’s players worked together to make most of those attempts easy to deal with.

Goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar did a fine job that evening, saving four of Lyon’s five shots on goal. Unfortunately, after that game, her ankle problems returned, for which she might need to miss the UWCL Final on May 24.

Barcelona Women vs. Arsenal Women Prediction

With or without their first-choice goalie, Arsenal will concede several goals. It’s just that with Claudia Pina being in such great form, Barça’s ladies look unstoppable. Sure, the Gunners will probably score a goal (or two) but we doubt that will be enough to take the UWCL title away from Barcelona.
