Altenar Makes a Foray into the Netherlands with Starcasino
Alejandro Cazorla, Altenar’s senior sales manager, expressed excitement about his team’s continued partnership with Starcasino and the opportunity to support its foray into the Netherlands

Altenar, a leader in the provision of “best-in-class” sports betting and online casino solutions, has expanded its geographical footprint with a new agreement. Representing an extension of its existing partnership with leading European casino and sportsbook operator Starcasino, the deal will see Altenar enter the highly attractive Dutch market.
Altenar and Starcasino Enter the Dutch Market
Alternar, which has powered Starcasino with content for a few years, is finally expanding its agreement with the operator. The two parties, which have previously collaborated in Belgium, will now grow their relationship to also cover the Netherlands.
In Belgium, Altenar supplied Starcasino with its full sports betting tech stack, allowing it to offer cutting-edge bets to online and retail bettors alike. Over the three years since the signing of the deal, Starcasino has managed to gain traction and is currently pursuing geographical expansion.
As a result, Starcasino is preparing to enter the Netherlands where it will once again be powered by Altenar’s sports betting capabilities. This will mark a major step in both companies’ growth journeys, allowing them to tackle one of Europe’s most lucrative, if strictly regulated, markets.
A Testament to Altenar’s Commitment to Scalable, Compliant Solutions
Alejandro Cazorla, Altenar’s senior sales manager, expressed excitement about his team’s continued partnership with Starcasino and the opportunity to support its foray into the Netherlands. He said that this launch is the culmination of Altenar’s commitment to supplying its partners with state-of-the-art solutions.
This growth reflects the strength of our sportsbook platform, built with the flexibility to innovate and the rigour to meet complex regulatory demands. It’s a testament to our commitment to long-term customer success and delivering scalable, compliant solutions.
Pieter van den Bos, director at Starcasino, was likewise pleased with the expanded partnership. He praised the success of the two companies’ collaboration in Belgium and said that his team was “thrilled” to introduce Altenar’s unique sportsbook platform to the Netherlands.
We firmly believe that Altenar’s cutting-edge features, combined with Starcasino’s competitive odds and exclusive promotional tools, create a fresh and innovative betting experience tailored for sports enthusiasts in the Netherlands.

Netherlands to End Sponsorships
Speaking of the Netherlands, the country’s regulator, Kansspelautoriteit, recently warned operators that it is preparing to tighten the supervision of its new rules on advertising and gambling sponsorships in sports. For reference, the Netherlands had adopted a phased approach to its crackdown on untargeted ads, gradually eliminating them from the Dutch media space.
The final phase of these efforts is set to kick off on July 1 and the Netherlands will prohibit operators from sponsoring professional sports clubs and athletes.
The Kansspelautoriteit vowed to remain vigilant and penalize companies that do not comply with the new rules.
