Oscar Piastri or Lando Norris? Odds Favor McLaren Drivers
Four of this season’s five Formula 1 races were won by the drivers from the McLaren-Mercedes team. Lando Norris won one of those, while the other three were won by his colleague, Oscar Piastri.
The one that Norris won was the season opener and since then, we saw him get a podium finish three more times. The only time he didn’t get in the Top 3 was in the previous race when he finished fourth.
Piastri, on the other hand, has been in the form of his life. He won three of the last four Formula 1 races. In Saudi Arabia on Easter Sunday, we saw the Australian get a win despite starting second on the grid, behind Max Verstappen.
Truth be told, he was a bit lucky to win the race – Red Bull’s driver got a 5-second penalty which cost him the victory.
Max Verstappen Needs to Pull Himself Together
Despite recent struggles, Max Verstappen is still considered the finest driver in the world. He’s third in the 2025 Formula One Drivers’ Championship with 12 points fewer than the No. 1 driver, Piastri. What this means is that with a good performance on May 4 and a little bit of luck, he could get to the top.
Speaking of luck, he was unlucky in Saudi Arabia where he won the pole position and was in a good situation to win the race. However, he received a 5-second penalty for leaving the truck and gaining an advantage over Piastri.
That was the crucial moment in the race, the evidence being that Verstappen finished just 2.843 seconds behind Piastri in the end. Making such silly mistakes is something that mustn’t happen again if he wants to get back on the winning track.
As a reminder, he’s got only one win this season, which isn’t great for a driver of his caliber. After all, last year, he won four of the first five races.
2025 Miami GP Prediction
We think it’s time for Max Verstappen to start winning again. He’s a hell of a driver, and he’s got some nice memories from Miami. In fact, he won two of the three Miami GPs; in the one that he didn’t win, he finished second.
Pick: Max Verstappen
