14 Years Later, NC Player Wins Second Cash 5 Jackpot

As good fortune would have it, the winner had more than doubled his second prize, to $259,866 in the most recent drawing. 

The last time he had to collect was back in December 2012. Both instances are worth celebrating and could perhaps cause a pang of jealousy in other lifetime winners who have never had the same luck. 

The odds of winning Cash 5 once are 1 in 962,598, meaning that consistency alone would not guarantee you a win, but it cannot hurt either. The Cash 5 game is one of the best-represented lottery options across the country.

While Woolard’s 14-year-apart wins are impressive and make for a good anecdote, there have been even bigger winners from the same game nationwide. A ticket won $3.4 million in New Jersey earlier this month.
