Wynn UAE Casino to Feature Crypto Payments & More

The upcoming project is continuing to beat all expectations, with the backers now adding that the casino may also include crypto payments

Bucking all expectations, the Wynn Al Marjan Island casino resort will feature a slew of technological innovations that were previously thought impossible for gaming floors, and not least in the United Arab Emirates.

Wynn Al Marjan Island Wants You to Use Crypto to Gamble

Among the innovations that the company is going to include are cryptocurrencies. Wynn Resorts has confirmed speaking at the SBC Summit in Lisbon on Wednesday. Take it straight from the horse’s mouth, with EVP of gaming operations at Wynn, David Patent, saying that smart table rollout and crypto are among the technologies that will be implemented on top of hospitality treats.

Patent said that Wynn’s Al Marjan project will become the first in the world to introduce smart gaming table technology for all of the existing tables and will do away with what he described as the baccarat-focused gameplay that dominates most other venues across the world.

This means that Wynn Al Marjan Island will offer nearly every available table game that has been developed and offered at a prominent venue by the operator elsewhere, and smart tables have other benefits, too. In comments during the conference, he said:

“Smart tables are great. They’re proven in Singapore and in Macau and a couple of other markets where they accurately record the customer’s bets. They have better game speed, there are fewer dealer errors, and counterfeit chips are almost impossible. We can therefore reinvest more accurately, and our accounting becomes quicker. There are so many advantages.”

Patent’s words about the adoption of cryptocurrencies, however, were couched in cautious optimism about another groundbreaking move spearheaded by his company. There is no explicit go-ahead from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) just yet, he noted, but the company has already applied.

Wynn Resorts to Build User Database from the Grounds Up

However, Patent is confident that only good things may come out of this, with cryptocurrencies enabling consumers to enjoy an unprecedented experience.

“We’ll be doing a lot of real-time marketing offers at the slot machine and at table games that will be rapidly responding to what we believe the customers’ needs are, and we’ll be taking that to a much more granular level than anybody’s done previously,” Patent explained.

Wynn Resorts will also have to build from scratch, as it doesn’t have a database of its customers and would need to build from the ground up. However, this ought not be a problem, Patent estimates, as the company is well-versed in developing such solutions already.

The arrival of crypto would certainly be another memorable feature of the Middle East’s first casino, which is estimated to cost $5.1 billion and be ready in early 2027.
