Virginia Woman Hits $100K Prize on Powerball – Second Lifetime Jackpot

A Virginia woman is happy to have gotten something out of the recent Powerball draw – a $100,000 prize, as it turns out. Yet, this win is even more important to Sharon Godsey, as this is not the first time she has won six figures from the lottery.

Playing 12 years ago, Godsey ended up winning the same prize – $100,000. The total amount spent over the last decade on lottery tickets is not immediately known, but Godsey could not have spent more than $5,000, leading to her most recent win.

The second six-figure win came after Godsey purchased the ticket from Carson Market on Village Highway in Concord, Virginia, and matched four of the first five numbers for Powerball, which led to a $50,000 guaranteed prize.

Having opted for the Power Play option, though, she topped up the prize to $100,000, a respectable win altogether, and a meaningful one given Godsey’s own history with lottery draws!

Even though she won her last prize playing Sapphire Riches, a scratch-off game, she still couldn’t believe her luck – “I just hit the floor! My knees collapsed,” Godsey told officials.
