UK National Lottery Player Comes Forward to Claim GBP 15M Jackpot

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, commented on this exciting development, saying that the player seems to be ready to kick off 2026 with a bang

A lucky lottery player in the UK is ready to kick off 2026 with a bang after claiming a jackpot of some GBP 15 million. This comes two months after the actual jackpot was won.

Allwyn Is Currently Validating the Claim

On November 15, the UK National Lottery’s Lotto “Must Be Won” drawing saw a single ticket match all winning numbers to win a life-changing GBP 15 million in a single swoop. The player’s foresight allowed them to correctly hit each of the winning numbers, which were 09, 11, 27, 44, 48, and 52.

Despite the huge excitement around this win, however, no winner came forward to claim it.

Some two months later, however, Allwyn, the operator of The National Lottery, announced that it has received a claim for the jaw-dropping jackpot. The lottery company noted that the claim is currently being validated and that the prize will be paid out if the claim passes.

Due to the fact that the claim has yet to be processed, the claimant’s identity has not been revealed. If Allwyn confirms them as the true winner, they will be allowed to decide whether to reveal themselves or remain anonymous.

Not All Players Claim Their Prizes Right Away

A similar thing just happened in the US where the winner of a Mega Millions jackpot of almost a billion dollars just came forward to claim their prize months after the actual drawing. Coincidentally, that player won their prize on November 14 – a day before The National Lottery player in the UK won theirs.

Elsewhere, a woman from Hackham in South Australia came forward to claim her AUD 20 million ($13.4 million) Powerball jackpot only a few days after winning.

At the same time, the winner of the amazing $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot in the US has yet to come forward to claim their prize.
