UK Betting and Gaming Council Welcomes CopyBet as Latest Member
Grainne Hurst, the chief executive officer of the BGC, welcomed CopyBet on board, hailing the company’s commitment to high standards

The United Kingdom’s Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) has welcomed CopyBet as its latest member. By joining the lobby group, the operator will work to raise industry standards and promote safer gambling.
BGC Adds CopyBet to the Team
CopyBet, an innovative betting platform, has joined the BGC as its latest member, committing to champion safer gaming and sensible regulation in the UK. Coming shortly after CopyBet joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), the BGC membership highlights CopyBet as an ambitious company with strong standards.
CopyBet was launched in 2016 and, as its name suggests, allows consumers to copy the bets of other players. This somewhat unorthodox feature has helped to foster a strong sense of community among its players, allowing them to interact with one another and see what others bet.
CopyBet offers both pre-match and in-play betting products and is fully licensed in the United Kingdom. By joining the BGC, it has become a part of a community encompassing the majority of regulated gaming companies in the country.
CopyBet Hopes to Foster a Culture of Safer Betting
Grainne Hurst, the chief executive officer of the BGC, welcomed CopyBet on board, hailing the company’s commitment to high standards. She said that this move will expand the already diverse BGC lineup, allowing the body to continue to raise standards and promote moderate regulation that doesn’t hurt the industry.
We look forward to collaborating with CopyBet, and all our members, as we work together to raise standards across the industry.
Grainne Hurst, CEO, BGC
Anton Ivanov, CopyBet UK’s business development director, was likewise pleased to see his company become a member of the BGC. He added that his company cannot wait to join forces with other BGC members to help raise industry standards and foster a culture of safer betting.
BGC Promotes Collaboration Between Operators and Institutions
The BGC has long promoted collaboration among regulators and stakeholders, saying that this is the key to cracking down on illegal gambling. Earlier this year, CEO Hurst commented on the growing black market, calling it a “shared challenge” that operators and institutions must face together.
According to her, the black market is a serious threat that undermines the legal alternative, exposes players to risk and facilitates crime.
